The company
VTEX is a NYSE-listed enterprise commerce platform powering some of the largest retailers across Latin America and beyond. This isn't a startup tool — it's the infrastructure that major brands trust to run their stores at scale.
The project
Grupo Olímpica is one of Colombia's biggest retail chains — supermarkets, drugstores, and pharmacies across the country, serving millions of customers. Getting their commerce experience right on mobile meant real stakes: real users, real transactions, real consequences when something breaks.
What I owned
- 60% of the client codebase — not a supporting role. Responsible for the majority of the mobile application for one of VTEX's largest clients in the region, from architecture decisions down to implementation
- Enterprise commerce patterns — product catalogs, cart and checkout flows, inventory, promotions — built to the reliability standards a supermarket chain demands
- VTEX platform depth — worked directly with VTEX's APIs and platform internals, developing expertise in one of the most battle-tested commerce platforms in Latin America
- Full-time delivery — 15 months of consistent output on a high-visibility client account
