The organization
AIESEC is the world's largest youth-run organization — present in 120+ countries, tens of thousands of members, and a mission built around developing leadership through real international experience. No corporate agenda. No shareholders. Just young people building something that matters.
The role
React Developer. Volunteer. Bogotá, Colombia.
Chose to give time and skills to an organization I believed in, building software that helped coordinate opportunities, members, and programs across one of the most globally connected youth networks on the planet.
What it meant
- Passion-driven work — nobody volunteers at AIESEC for the paycheck. You show up because you believe the mission is worth your time, and that belief tends to make you work harder than any salary would
- Global context from day one — working within a network that spans 120+ countries means thinking internationally before most engineers ever have to
- Leadership foundations — AIESEC exists to develop leaders. Being inside that environment early shapes how you think about ownership, initiative, and impact
- React in the real world — shipped actual tools used by actual people doing work that mattered to them, not just tutorial projects
